Idealis vs Realis

Witch mush we choose between Idealis n Realis? lets we see the mean of idealism n realism.

Idealism is any system or theory that maintains that the "real" is of the nature of thought or that the object of external perception consists of ideas. It can also be the tendency to represent things in an ideal form, or as they might or should be rather than as they are, with emphasis on values.


Realism in the visual arts and literature is the depiction of subjects as they appear in everyday life, without embellishment or interpretation. The term is also used to describe works of art which, in revealing a truth, may emphasize the ugly or sordid.

So can we choose both them? I dont know exacly :D because I so confuse to choose them.
